Dan Twomey Appointed to Oversee Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and Intelligence Community Customers
HERNDON, Va., January 7, 2008 – GigaTrust today announced the appointment of Dan Twomey, a 29year information technology industry veteran, as Executive Director of Federal business in the DoD, DHS and the Intelligence Community.

Mr. Twomey brings nearly three decades of private sector leadership experience to GigaTrust in the areas of program management, professional services, systems integration, telecommunications, hardware, software and networking. Before joining GigaTrust, he was the Vice President of Operations for the Defense Division at Robbins-Gioia, a program management consulting firm. He was the parallel Vice President of Business Development at Robbins-Gioia prior to holding his operations position. Moreover, he has held executive sales, marketing, business development, and operations positions for companies including Computer Sciences Corporation, MCI Telecommunications/Satellite Business Systems, SoftSwitch, NET, Sequent Computers Systems, Altarum Institute, and Veridian/MRJ Solutions.
At these companies, he developed strategies for focusing on federal business, grew his respective organizations substantially, created innovative ways to develop new business and successfully contributed to the revenue growth of each of his employers.
Before entering the private sector, Mr. Twomey served in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense as a commissioned officer of the USAF, as well as on the staff of the Committee on the Budget of the United States Senate.
He is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy where he majored in Mathematics. As a Rhodes Scholar, he received his graduate degree in Economics at Oxford, England. He is a trustee of the Falcon Foundation, an educationally-oriented non-profit organization associated with the US Air Force Academy, based in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mr. Twomey is a recent chair of the Enterprise Architecture Shared Interest Group (SIG) of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), and Vice Chair of the Defense Committee of the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA).
