GigaTrust Tip - Protecting WAV Files with GigaTrust

The GigaTrust Desktop Client makes it possible to protect WAV and voice files during transmission. The files are also protected if they are accidentally forwarded to a recipient who does not have permission to open the file.

GigaTrust customers running the GigaTrust Desktop Client software can use this functionality directly from Outlook, a Windows Desktop, or Windows File Explorer. Using Outlook, users attach a document to an email, select the protect button, and any type of voice file will automatically be protected.

Uses: this functionality can protect voicemail delivered to an Inbox and other confidential recordings that are delivered over the Internet.

Images from the protection process are provided below.

Notes:
  1. Voice files can only be assigned 'Save As' permission (see Figure 2). This means that a recipient can open the file in a native listening application and save the file without permissions.
  2. Outlook may prompt recipients to save or open the file if the user has elected this security option. This prompt will occur before the GigaTrust prompt (see Figure 4).
