GigaTrust's Intelligent Rights Management enables secure anyone-to-anyone collaboration inside or outside the enterprise by persistently protecting content at rest, in transit, or in use for PCs, laptops and BlackBerry devices. What We Do

GigaTrust, an industry provider of Enterprise Rights Management software, delivers persistent content protection and authentication services to both large commercial and government enterprises as well as small-to-medium business (SMB) markets. Persistent content protection represents a major advance in security, as it allows businesses to 'establish and enforce' secure corporate policies to protect everyday content, collaboration and sharing of any document across the Internet—within as well as between enterprises.

GigaTrust's technology is based on the XrML standard, which is deployed through Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, accounting for over 95% of the PC and laptop market worldwide. GigaTrust utilizes Windows RMS to protect sensitive information. RMS is a content security technology that applies protection directly to content instead of restricting access to the content. GigaTrust's software can be deployed on PCs, laptops and on the RIM BlackBerry. It supports all web mail services (Yahoo, AOL, Google), and works with Outlook Web Access.

How We Do It

GigaTrust client-server architecture automatically applies policies to Outlook-based email and desktop files, including non-Microsoft Office documents on PCs running Office 2000, or Office 2007. The GigaTrust Web filter software dynamically applies the same policies to content delivered from databases, Windows, SharePoint Services portals, and Web sites using Internet Information Services (IIS). GigaTrust helps extend legislative compliance solutions and security policies to external partners, suppliers, and customers. The major applications for GigaTrust services include cross-protection of emails and attachments, dynamic content protection on Web portals, secure Web-based training, secure Web publishing, Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPPA compliance, and secure content storage and email repositories.

History

In April 2000, Robert Bernardi founded GigaMedia Access Corporation (now known as GigaTrust) to address difficulties surrounding Internet-based communications. The personal computer was the hub for communications, but security firewalls prevented cross-business communications. People used email as an alternative, but email lacked security and control.

In March 2001, with a core management team in place, the company developed the architecture and began building products to address these problems. In February 2003, GigaMedia formed a strategic partnership with Microsoft and formally launched their Enterprise product to the market. Today, as GigaTrust, we deliver secure email, secure file sharing, and secure publishing through our suite of GigaTrust products and services.
